The new European regulatory framework is driving a far more rigorous approach to environmental communication. Environmental claims will have to be supported by verifiable evidence. For the packaging sector, this\u00a0represents\u00a0a particularly significant evolution. Packaging materials will need to explain clearly where they come from, how their resources are managed, how they perform throughout their life cycle and what evidence supports every environmental claim.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Within this context, paper bags have particularly strong credentials.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Their renewable origin, the responsible management of their raw materials, their high recyclability and the regulatory framework governing the entire value chain provide a communication platform based on facts rather than\u00a0perceptions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This\u00a0new environment\u00a0rewards companies that have chosen transparency.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Because trust is not built on slogans.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is built on the ability to prove what is claimed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That is\u00a0probably the\u00a0most\u00a0significant change\u00a0introduced by the new European legislation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
